The largest lake in Indiana boasting 10,750 acres of water and 23,952 acres total with surrounding land and trails. Monroe is a man-made reservoir that was authorized under the Flood Control Act of 1938. Construction on the dam began in 1960 and was completed and operational in February 1966.
